Help wanted: Lenoir Community College - Environmental Services Technician - Custodian
$20,500.00 - $25,500.00 Annually
The Environmental Services Technician - Custodian performs general custodial duties related to the maintenance and cleaning of assigned buildings and facilities and performs a variety of tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility.
The duties of the Environmental Services Technician -
Custodian include, but are not limited to:
ยท Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets
ยท Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment
ยท Clean desks, tables, and counter tops
ยท Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and door glass
ยท Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles in assigned areas
ยท Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures as assigned including sinks, urinals, toilets, mirrors,
walls and drinking fountains; replenish restroom supplies as needed
ยท Sweep walkways and entrances to buildings and classrooms; pick up debris around building
ยท Operate and control high and low speed stripping/buffing machines
ยท Set up tables, chairs, and equipment in a variety of settings for special events and normal campus activities
ยท Identify and report building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities
ยท Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
ยท High school diploma
ยท At least three (3) years custodial experience
ยท Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy
ยท Ability to work independently but also be a team player
ยท Good communication and comprehension skills
ยท Must have a valid NC driverโs license
Working Conditions
ยท The job is performed under some temperature extremes
ยท Moderate physical effort requiring long periods of standing, walking, and periodic lifting of 50 pounds or more
ยท Must be able to stretch, stoop, bend, and maneuver to facilitate all elements of cleaning the buildings
