Help wanted: Grant Writer/Manager (Full Time)

$42,000 - $50,000 Annually

The Grant Writer/Manager is responsible for securing external funds through formal grant proposals from professional/private foundations, corporations, federal and state agencies and other external agencies. This position handles the full scope of the grants process from research and application through grant conclusion.

  • Identify, analyze, and pursue potential sources of additional funding from state and federal government, foundations, business and industry, and other appropriate sources

  • Identify funding sources that coordinate with the College's strategic plan

  • Research, write, and coordinate proposals materials required for grant submissions and submit in a timely manner according to grant guidelines

  • Track proposal submissions and progress

  • Remain current on trends, statistics, research, and public policy in education, cultural activities, and workforce development that will affect funding opportunities, proposal writing, and reporting

  • Develop and maintain a process to monitor grant compliance

  • Complete all grant reports and adhere to deadlines as required by the funding source and the Director of Institutional Advancement

  • Coordinate with the Business Office to monitor adherence to grant award contract conditions

  • Assist in public recognition and cultivate continuing relationships of grantors

  • Maintain an organized computer database of grant proposals and reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience writing grants

  • Proven experience in writing successful grant proposals that were funded is required

Working Conditions

  • Office environment

  • Infrequently lifting and carrying items up to 15 lbs.

  • Infrequently bending and twisting at the waist

  • Infrequent evening and weekend work hours; frequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a computer display, keyboard, mouse, and telephone

  • Infrequently traveling between buildings on campus, satellite campuses and off-campus sites
