General Function
This position provides various administrative and clerical duties in support of the Vice President of Student Services and Institutional Effectiveness including planning and implementing special projects and activities that are under the Vice President's authority.
Qualifications
ยท Associate degree with 3-5 years of experience in an office setting required
ยท Community college experience preferred
ยท Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
ยท Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
ยท Knowledge of office equipment such as the computer, printer, copier, fax machine, and telephone
Working Conditions
ยท Typical office environment
ยท Frequently sitting at a desk using a telephone, computer, keyboard, and mouse
ยท Working closely with others
ยท Periodically working irregular hours
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The duties of the Administrative Assistant include, but are not limited to:
ยท Plans and schedules meetings and appointments
ยท Organizes and maintains paper and electronic files
ยท Composes internal and external correspondence
ยท Prepares reports, creates presentations, manages projects, and conducts research
ยท Maintains the calendar of events for the Vice President of Student Services and Institutional Effectiveness
ยท Tracks the budget expenditures and allotments for the office of the Vice President
ยท Makes travel arrangements as necessary for the Vice President
ยท Records and prepares minutes of meetings chaired by the Vice President
ยท Coordinates social functions on campus when necessary
ยท Interacts with various individuals and groups such as students, faculty, staff, and senior administrators
ยท Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Student Services and Institutional Effectiveness
