Kinston Police Case Update: Suspects involved in vandalism at Vernon Park Mall have been identified

The Kinston Police Department has been able to identify the suspects responsible for breaking  into the Vernon Park Mall. All five of the individuals are juveniles ages 16-17 and all five are  from Greene County. Investigators are currently working with the Department of Juvenile  Justice to bring charges against the suspects. The success of this case is contributed to the  citizens of Kinston who provided information to the tips line. Calls to Crime Stoppers  are confidential and anonymous, and the caller may be eligible for a cash reward for  information that leads to an arrest. 

On October 3rd, 2021, officers with the Kinston Police Department were conducting business  checks and located a break in at the Vernon Park Mall, 834 Hardee Rd. Kinston, N.C. This is the  third incident of this nature within the past month. Officers were able to recover surveillance  footage of the incident and ask that anyone with information to contact the Kinston Police  Department’s Tips Line at 252-939-4020 or Lenoir County Crime Stoppers at 252-523-4444.  Calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential and anonymous, and the caller may be eligible for a  cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
