Help wanted: Vehicle Operator II Landfill/Solid Waste
Vehicle Operator II Landfill/Solid Waste Salary Range: $22,197 - $39,171
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Duties include properly driving and operating truck(s) and other light to medium equipment of limited complexity used for the hauling of solid waste.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of the methods, practices, and procedures of garbage pickup. Knowledge in the safe operational procedures in the use of equipment, machines and tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be physically able to operate a variety of motor vehicles, trucks, machinery and equipment including two-way radios and hand-tools. Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. A large portion of the job is performed outside with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, noise, chemical and mechanical hazards.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from High School and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
