The following restaurant inspections were conducted by the Lenoir County Health Department:
Mis Tesoros Taqueria
202 South Pine Street, Kinston

Observations:
Raw eggs stored above ready to eat foods on small shelf in walk-in. Store raw eggs below ready to eat food.
Cooked vegetables in prep unit were not date marked.
Two out of three thermometers were not calibrated correctly.
Tortillas stored in grocery bags. Store food in food-grade containers or bags such as a Ziploc bag.
Storage containers have dirt/grit in corners and along bottom.
Cardboard dumpster had open lids. Dumpster shall remain closed when not in use.
Starbucks Coffee Company

Hank sink at drive-thru had water that was 81 degrees F. Water shall be at least 100 degrees F and hand sinks shall have hot and cold running water. Verification date – 7/17
Countertops and prep sinks need additional cleaning. Non-food contact surfaces shall be clean to sight and touch.
Dumpster lid and cardboard dumpster lid were open. Trash on ground around dumpster and cardboard dumpster.
Susie’s Restaurant

Eggs stored on top of ready to eat foods in breakfast fridge. Store eggs below ready to eat foods. Eggs were moved to bottom of fridge.
Several foods in kitchen had been removed from heat and were air cooling. These foods were not being actively cooled, and had not reached 70 degrees F within two hours.
Lettuce on salad bar temped 42 degrees F. Foods in prep fridge temped 45-46 degrees F. All foods in cold holding shall be 41 degrees F or below. Ice was added to lettuce and foods moved to a different refrigerator.
Several foods in kitchen were air cooling. Foods were moved to walk in.
Sanitizer for wiping cloths was not strong enough. Sanitizer was remade to correct strength.
Prep refrigerator was not operating correctly.
