Parrott students selected for national Grannie Annie publication

Two middle school students from Arendell Parrott Academy have had their historical family stories selected for publication in Grannie Annie, Vol. 15, to be released in May by The Grannie Annie Family Story Celebration.

Sixth grader Blaney Blizzardโ€™s memoir is entitled โ€œThe Walk Back Home,โ€ while eighth grader Carolista Walshโ€™s piece is entitled โ€œCrossed Paths.โ€ From 403 submissions by U.S. and international students, only 23 pieces were chosen for publication. Volume 15 will be published as a paperback book, and stories in Volume 15 will be posted on The Grannie Annie's website.

The Grannie Annie is a non-profit organization that invites students in grades 4 through 8 to write about something interesting they discover from their family's history based on their interviews with older relatives.
