Kinston Police: Homicide investigation underway

**Update on shooting incident from last night: Last night at 1134 pm officers of Kinston PD responded to 607 E. Highland Avenue in response to a 911 call of a domestic disturbance where a subject had been shot. The deceased has been identified as Alexander Jerrod Baker 34-year-old male subject who was staying at the residence with his girlfriend, one male, age 20, and two juvenile male subjects. All subjects involved in the incident have been identified and are cooperating in the investigation. Kinston Police are conferring with the Lenoir County District Attorney's office on the investigation and possible charges related to the incident.

On 05/20/2020 at 11:34 p.m., Kinston Police responded to 607 E. Highland Ave. Kinston, NC in reference to a subject that had been shot. Officers arrived on scene and located a 34-year-old Black male with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was pronounced dead on scene. Officers are following up on several leads at this time but encourage anyone that may have been in the area to contact the Kinston Police Department.
