Lenoir/Greene United Way set to start annual campaign

Lenoir/Greene United Way will kick off its annual fund campaign on Aug. 15. The kickoff event will be in conjunction with the Summerfest concert in Pearson Park. United Way staff will be handing out information on the agencies they support as well as free T-shirts to attendees.

“We are looking forward to a great year at Lenoir/Greene United Way and appreciate the many businesses and individuals who faithfully support us each year,” Molly Taylor, executive director of Lenoir/Greene United Way, said. “Please join us Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. for a night of great music and entertainment!

“We want to especially thank Pride of Kinston for partnering with us on launching our campaign year.”

In addition to the campaign launch, Lenoir/Greene United Way is also supporting a new theme for the year:  Give the Gift of Now.

“Our theme embodies the spirit of being present for each other, being present in and for our communities,” Taylor said. “It is the biggest gift we can give one another — our time, our care and our unwavering commitment of support.”

The Lenoir/Greene United Way is a local affiliate of United Way Worldwide serving the two counties of Lenoir and Greene. The 501c3 nonprofit organization has a long history of serving our community’s needs, specifically in the areas of education, health and financial stability, as well as disaster preparedness.  Lenoir/Greene United Way currently funds 15 partner agencies through its annual campaign.
