Around Town: Barnett earns scholastic award

Braden Barnett, right, was presented the Sue Marcom Jones Scholastic Achievement Award on Wednesday at Moss Hill Elementary School by Marenda Everett. The award is presented to the fifth-grade student who has the highest grade point average. It is presented annually in memory of Jones, who was a teacher at Moss Hill.
