Tanner Cannon, Ayden-Grifton, baseball

Cannon played a strong role in the Chargers’ big wins last week against Washington and Kinston. The sophomore threw 4 1/3 innings, allowing four hits with four strikeouts in a 12-0 victory over the Pam Pack March 19, then had an RBI double in a 14-0 win against the Vikings three days later.

One place he would like to travel to: Hawaii

His hidden talent: basketball

Gisell Cervantes, Arendell Parrott, soccer

Cervantes helped the Patriots keep their six-game winning streak intact in a pair of victories last week. The sophomore had an assist in a 2-1 win over Grace Christian March 19 and followed with two goals and an assist in a come-from-behind 5-3 win over Cape Fear Academy three days later.
