LCC looking for part-time truck driving instructors

In an effort to meet labor market demands, Lenoir Community College is seeking to expand its truck driving training program. LCC will hold a recruiting event to hire additional part-time instructors from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Feb. 25 in the NCWorks Career Center on the main campus.

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • High school graduate

  • A current and valid N.C. Class A CDL driver's license and a current and clean N.C. driving record

  • At least three years of experience in a Class A (tractor trailer) in over the road 48-state operation in all types of weather and terrain

  • Owner/operator experience a plus

  • Knowledge and understanding of DOT, state and federal laws and regulations related to truck driver, driving safety and health practices

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must work well with others in a team environment

LCC was awarded a Maximize Carolina grant to help offset the cost of the truck driver training program for residents who qualify for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
