An arrest has been made in a homicide case.

Earlier today, Christopher Dixon, 27, was taken into custody by the Philadelphia Police Department and members of the USMS Violent Fugitive Task Force in Philadelphia. Dixon was charged with first degree murder in the death of Rasheem Thomas, a 29-year-old, that took place on Highland Avenue on Monday.

Dixon is being held by the PPD while awaiting extradition to Lenoir County.

On Thursday, officials with the Kinston Police Department obtained murder warrants for Dixon and Nico Jones in the Thomas case. The murder case remains under investigation. Anyone who has information about this case or the whereabouts of Jones is encouraged to call the Tips Line at 252-939-4020 or Lenoir County Crime Stoppers at 252-523-4444.
