Sexual assault reported in Kinston Wednesday morning

A juvenile female was reportedly sexually assaulted on Marcella Drive Wednesday morning.

Shortly before 10 a.m., Kinston police officers responded to 500 Marcella Drive to a report of two individuals who had been assaulted. The preliminary investigation revealed an 18-year-old male and his juvenile female acquaintance were approached by the assailant, who threatened force upon the male with the implied use of a handgun. 

After demanding the male victim leave the area, the assailant sexually assaulted the female before leaving on foot. 

The assailant is described as being a black male, 18 to 20 years of age, of thin build and average height. He was wearing all black clothing with a hooded sweatshirt drawn tight to disguise his face.  

The Kinston Police Department is seeking the aid of anyone who was in the area of 500 Marcella Drive Wednesday morning between 8-10 a.m., and believes they may have seen anything involving this case.
