NCDOT: Replacement of hurricane damaged pipe to close section of Lenoir Co. road

NCDOT: Replacement of hurricane damaged pipe to close section of Lenoir Co. road

A pipe damaged by Hurricane Florence will be replaced by the N.C. Department of Transportation and crews will have to close a Lenoir County road to safely do it.

Between 8 a.m. Nov. 12 and 5 p.m. Nov. 22, a section of Eric Sparrow Road, near Gray Branch Church Road, will be closed while crews replace the existing pipe with a larger culvert.

Drivers needing to get around the closure will be detoured onto Gray Branch Road, N.C. 11 and Liddell Road.

While the detour is in place, drivers should plan on needing extra time to get to their destination. NCDOT also urges to slow down when in the work area.

This work was scheduled for September but was delayed due to Hurricane Dorian.
