Help wanted: Buildings and Grounds Maintenance

Maintenance Worker II: Regular, Full-time

Salary Range: $21,201 - $37,412

This position differs from the Maintenance Worker I position in the level of responsibility. This is a lead level position which provides direction, establishes priorities, assigns tasks, coordinates work projects and/or monitors the work of other personnel.

Qualifications: Individual must be able to direct, train, and monitor the work of others in a lead capacity. Individual must be a steady, reliable worker. Must be able to read instructions and follow diagrams; perform tasks independently after being given instructions; must have general knowledge of equipment used in the building trades and must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. and (1) one year of experience as a Maintenance Worker I and/or prior experience in a maintenance, custodian, maintenance mechanic, maintenance technician, or similar capacity.

Physical Qualifications: Manual dexterity sufficient to using hand tools; ability to stand, crouch, and climb to perform repairs, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor; ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and vision (with correction) sufficient for reading and performing repairs.
