Red Cross schedules blood drive for October 5th

Red Cross schedules blood drive for October 5th

This past week has been devastating to parts of Eastern NC due to Hurricane Florence. The American Red Cross is providing help and hope as people recover. We are working around the clock to provide safe shelter and comfort for the hundreds of thousands of people impacted by Hurricane Florence as the threat from the devastating storm continues.

The storm is still bringing extremely dangerous flooding to the affected region and getting help into some areas will be difficult for some time. Over the coming days and weeks we are going to see a tremendous need for support. More than 170 blood drives have been forced to cancel through this week due to Hurricane Florence, resulting in more than 4,600 uncollected blood and platelet donations.

We are still expecting cancellations into the coming weeks and months due to flooding in areas and lost sites. We are urging people in unaffected areas to make an appointment to give blood NOW.

Our drive will be held on October 5th from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Station 1 which is located at 2147 Fred Everett Rd., Kinston, NC 28504.
