UPDATE - Kinston Police: Shooting suspect arrested

On October 4, 2018, Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Christopher Farris of Kinston for (2) counts of Felony Attempted Murder and (1) count of Felony Discharge a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle. On October 5, 2018, members of the Kinston Police Department and U.S. Marshal Task Force arrested Christopher Farris in Kinston. Christopher Farris was placed in the Lenoir County Detention Center under a secured bond. On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at approximately 10:00 PM, officers responded to UNC Lenoir Hospital reference a gunshot victim. When officers arrived at UNC Lenoir, they found Adonnnis Quintrell Cox, with an apparent gunshot wound to his lower back. The wound did not appear to be life threatening. The investigation revealed a possible altercation occurred earlier in the evening, leading to this incident. The vehicle Cox was a passenger in was struck by gunfire while on Vernon Ave.
