Officers responded to UNC Lenoir for a report of indecent exposure involving Michael Hardy (62). It was reported that Hardy exposed his genitals to multiple people (including children between the ages of 11 & 12). Hardy was arrested for Indecent Exposure and placed in the LC Jail under a secured bond.
Officers encountered Jamaurus Sutton for a parking violation. During the encounter, Sutton provided a false name to officers. As officers discovered Sutton's true identity, he began to refuse to follow lawful orders. Sutton was subsequently placed under arrest for Obstruct and Delay.
Peggy Ann Price, 79, of Deep Run, NC passed away on September 12, 2023, at her home. The funeral services and visitation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Woodington Ward on September 15, 2023.

The Pink Hill mayoral election has encountered another hurdle as an election protest has been filed, again challenging the residency of mayoral candidate Michael Horne. The protest comes after a previous challenge to Horne's eligibility was dismissed by the Lenoir County Board of Elections.

The Kinston License Plate Agency (LPA) will open a temporary office while repairs continue to its permanent location at the Kinston Plaza Shopping Center which was damaged by a tornado on June 22.
