This year Greene Early College celebrates a ten-year contractual agreement with NC Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway Program. To celebrate the commitment, over 40 very willing students combed the shoulders and ditches on Middle School Road on Friday September 23 to collect litter.

Precision Graphic, Inc., a new electronics manufacturing and fulfillment facility in Snow Hill, recently donated three microscopes to Lenoir Community College, allowing the College to provide a J-Standard soldering class for Precision Graphics' new employees.

That harsh winter left many of these colonists dead due to starvation and poor drinking water. This particular episode during the humble beginnings of Jamestown, Virginia echoes many of the struggles the first colonists to the New World endured.
