Farmer's Market Update - 3/9/2019

Farmer's Market Update - 3/9/2019

We are still waiting for strawberries and asparagus to ripen. The market will open as soon as these two crops are ripe and ready.

Meanwhile, Rodney, the pork skin man, will be in his booth selling pork skins, pork rinds and fried peanuts on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. If you are on the Keto Diet, these snacks are meant for you. They are also delicious with oysters, crumbled on baked potatoes and on salads.

This might not look like a very pretty picture, but it really is. This is a picture of progress. As you can see, the concrete in the floor of the Rick Holder Annex building has been cut and the dirt has been dug out for the installation of plumbing for our community kitchen. This is such an exciting project with holds lots of possibilities for our downtown, for our market and for local entrepreneurs. Sometimes, dreams really do come true!
